Everyone has their OWN Agenda…

Every human being has one thing in common….We all have our own agenda…..We embrace those things that matter to us….We try to surround ourselves with things that make us feel good….It is so much easier to feel good than to question why….. We All have formed beliefs….Where do these come from???  Have we ever questioned why we believe one thing or another?   When we dismiss RELIGION have we every questioned ourselves as to WHY?  Have we every wondered what God would be like without man-made RELIGION…..Have we ever thought how easy it is to dismiss GOD when we relate him to “old-Time Religion????Have we ever thought about how easy it is to live on the surface and not face the deep down in the gut truths that refuse to be dismissed.   There is only one truth……Our body will die….We will close our eyes, take our last breath, our body will grow cold and stiff but where is our soul going????For us that believe it will soar on the wings of an eagle….It will rest in peace until it unites with our body in heaven and enjoys the  eternal life that is promised to all than believe….. Do I appear smug???   Nope…….just content  and you can feel it too……  

Wow…lots of talking to come to this point…….whoever is elected president of the united states in 2008 will be elected because it is God’s plan to fulfill his word….No more no…less……Makes it kinda easy to vote cause whoever you vote for is OK since you are not in control anyway……..Happy Voting Day……

God has a wonderful way of slapping me upside the head and saying “STOP IT!!!!” Go forth…..I will provide…….

And I am given a glorious rainbow to affirm his love and that he will always take care of me…..

NOW YOU ARE WALKING, BREATHING, LIVING, EXISTING, HOPEFULLY DOING SOMETHING OF SIGNIFICANCE, AND IT IS ALL BECAUSE YOU WERE ALLOWED TO LIVE.

HOW….I MEAN….REALLY HOW…..CAN ANYONE BREATHING TODAY……NOT GIVE THAT CHANCE TO THE NEXT SEED?????

The Wildwoman on our first Camping Trip

Well we took our baby fifth wheel on it’s first camping trip.  We participated in the Oregon Coast Aquarium Car Show showing our 1966 F100 Ford Truck……which also pulled our vintage fifth wheel.    We love all things vintage…..cars, campers, wine, us…….

So this shake down trip found us lacking a few things……one of them being steak knives for our inaugural dinner consisting of fabulous steak, potato, corn on the cob and champagne….That would never stop a wildwoman and her wild husband…..We had a great time as you can tell…

Ceramic Prints: Low-Tech Printing Techniques with Kicki Masthem

Just finished this 3 day class at Sitka Center 
I have been fascinated with image transfer to all types of mediums.  Here our focus was clay….I’ve really never played with clay but it is magical, messy, obedient, disobedient and generally fun.  My only fence to jump is the firing to bisque in my glass kiln.  Once I figure that out I will jump off the cliff in my normal fashion….

Course Description
In this hands-on workshop, we will explore various processes for applying prints and color to fired and unfired clay. We will experiment with different printing techniques starting with simple mono prints. You will learn how to create your own ceramic ink to transfer photocopied images. We will use terra sigillatas, stains, and engobes to create patterns and designs on small flat slabs of clay. The many demonstrations will be followed by ample time for hands-on experimentation. You will come away with good samples of each technique and an itch to put them into practice.
About the Instructor
Kicki Masthem is a sculptural clay artist in Portland, Oregon. She has been an artist-in-residence at Clay Studio of Missoula, Montana; Watershed Ceramic Center, Maine; and at Contemporary Crafts Museum and Gallery, Oregon. Kicki has an M.F.A. in Ceramics from James Madison University, Virginia and teaches at Oregon College of Art & Craft, and Portland Community College.

Electronic Freedom!!!!

I finally decided to buy a GPS…..At times I had tried my husbands and it was cute but WHY bother……Well….now I understand. 

  Driving is not my choice of travel.   I rather be on a cruise ship or a bus or a train….anything but ME driving.  I am direction challenged.  If you threw me up in the air….I WOULD not land on my feet…..and if I did…I would be going the wrong way…..

Soo….I give up….I bought a Garmin GPS and I actually tried to understand it…Which is a feat for me because I usually close my mind to all electronic things.  I expect them  to work with no help from me and if they dont I toss them in the garbage can…..

I admit…I am getting better in my old age.  More patient…. more understanding, and more determined……

So…my first adventure with Mr.  GARMINO…(He’s Italian…my choice…)
 

 How do I get from the middle of a field in the middle of nowwhere to a town where I can shop at Lowes without going through the big town with lots of traffic, lots of balloons and an event that has traffic at a standstill????? 

 Mr…Garmino…has the answer…so I set out…Over hill and over dell….No fear….in fact feeling pretty brave.   and then the map says…Wheatland Ferry Road next left….Wait a minute…ferry????  in the middle of farmland????   why didnt that show up before I started????
 

  I’m not a brave traveler….this is not fun….how do I get from point A to point B…..and at this point I guess it is retreat or ferry….So I pull up my big girl panties and I go for it….

.Garmino would never lead me wrong and if he did…he would just recalculate and lead me in the right direction….I have no fear….I can travel anywhere and if I get really stuck….I can just call AAA…..

Wow….Can you believe it!!! I am so fortunate to take a class with Wuon Gean…..What a wonderful sharing woman and her ART is beyond belief. Three glorious days of playing with linocuts, printmaking, experimenting, 2 color, 4 color, suicides, reductions…..Thank God it not our Breasts……just ink on beautiful paper……..
